Mindfulness practices promote holistic relaxation to help us reconnect with ourselves, others and the world around us. We learn how to experience peace and serenity and to live life in the present, rather than being distracted, disconnected and concerned with the past or the future.
Mindfulness is about learning to live in the moment, in reality, as it is. It is about the realisation that only this moment exists, and to develop a relationship with that.
This of course asks us to live by principles such as willingness, acceptance and compassion. These I may have to cultivate. And so we cauld say, mindfulness is a path to liberation from the bondage of self, that constant mind chatter that overwhelms our moment to moment experience.
Letting go of preferences and beliefs and ideas about the people and situations in our lives isn't easy, I am sure most people would agree with me on that.
Usually, we are unaware, sometimes even unconsious, of the specifics of our thought content and we live by that.
Mindfulness practices can help you increase the awareness of yourself and the world around you in the present.
Cultivating the physical and mental behaviours you develop through this practice will help you manage emotional problems and challenges in your everyday life.
With mindfulness you rediscover how to live and enjoy life in the present rather than worry about the past, which is related to depressive states of being, or being concerned for the future, which can generally be a sign of anxiety.
Mindfulness is a practice, an invitation to be present in the moment, in full awareness, beyond the thinking and other mental activities. As a result, you feel more grounded and present which in turns allows more clarity and acceptance of things as they are.
Being present to what is happening in and around you in each moment has tremendous benefits for your health.
This practice helps you respond to difficulties using a more conscious approach - rather than the habituated negative automatic reactions developed in the past. This can feel very liberating, helping you experience life in a completely new, more enjoyable and healthier way.
During my sessions I help you develop practices that will work for you and your circumstances, and support you along the way as you develop new simple skills to help you and your life – it is an extremely valuable skill.
You can incorporate mindfulness techniques into your daily routine helping you to overcome the issues you encounter in your day to day life, such as worry, concern, stress, anger, anxiety and depression, and much more.
You can find a new lease of life by simply replacing some hindering habits with some healthy new ones!
